Data Deletion
Last updated: August 2026
Hisab ("the app") stores all of your transaction, account, and category data locally on your device — there is no Hisab-operated server holding a copy. Because of this, deleting your data is immediate and entirely within your control, with no request or waiting period needed.
The short version: Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all of your locally stored data. Disconnecting a connected email account removes Hisab's access to it immediately.
How to delete all app data
- Open your device's app settings, or long-press the Hisab app icon.
- Select Uninstall.
- This immediately and permanently removes the encrypted on-device database, including all transactions, accounts, categories, and rules — nothing is recoverable afterward, so make an encrypted backup first if you want to keep a copy.
How to revoke email access without uninstalling
- Open Hisab and go to Settings → Connected Accounts.
- Select the Gmail, Outlook, or IMAP account you want to disconnect.
- Tap Disconnect. This immediately revokes Hisab's read access to that mailbox and deletes the associated authentication token from our server-side relay.
What is deleted, and what may briefly remain
- Deleted immediately on uninstall: all transaction, account, category, and rule data stored in your on-device encrypted database.
- Deleted immediately on disconnect: the OAuth authentication token for that email account, held by our Firebase Cloud Functions relay.
- Not affected: any encrypted backup file you previously created and saved outside the app — since you control where that file is stored, you're responsible for deleting it separately if wanted.
- Crash diagnostics: if a crash report was already sent to Firebase Crashlytics before deletion, that report is retained under Google's standard retention period and isn't linked to your transaction data. See our Privacy Policy for details.
